Collecting & Viewing Your Ion Probe Data in 3-D Stereo

Introduction

Collecting and plotting 3-D ion flux data requires hardware and software correctly tailored to this purpose. We describe here: electrode construction, LIX usage, electronics choice and sets of software that will collect the data and provide data in a suitable format for plotting using available contour and 3-D vector plotting routines.

Your ion probe data can be enhance by various 3-D plotting routines.  If the source you are viewing is planar then a contour plot of the data may suffice to describe the ionic flux.  If the source is irregular or has several sources and sinks then vectors in space may represent the situation best.  Some situations may be best illustrated using a stereo view of the plot, as illustrated above.  The objective of this site is to provide the detailed protocols that we have found useful in achieving the above goals.
