Checklist of Vascular Plants from the Holyoke Range Massachusetts, Hampshire Co., Massachusetts
Checklist of Vascular Plants from the Holyoke Range Massachusetts, Hampshire Co., Massachusetts
This checklist was produced as part of an on going project at the University of Massachusetts Herbarium (MASS) to produce a flora of the Holyoke Range. The checklist is based on recent collections, or is documented by specimens in the following herbaria: the University of Massachusetts (MASS), Amherst College (AC), Smith College (SCHN), Gray Herbarium (GH) and the New England Botanical Club Herbarium (NEBC) at Harvard, and the Mount Holyoke College Herbarium. A few species mentioned in older local floras as occurring in the Holyoke Range but for which no specimen has been found are also included. As if 10 June 2003, 782 taxa have been documented
For the checklist, the Holyoke Range is broadly defined. The area includes state or other public land between Route 47at the Connecticut River and Harris Mountain Rd. and between Chmura Rd. in Hadley or Bay Rd. in Amherst and Bachelor Rd. in Granby or Elmer Brook in South Hadley
Nomenclature follows Gleason, H. A. and A. Cronquist. (1991), or "The Flora of North America", Vols. 2,3, 22, 23, and 26.
